Industry Relations Committee Objectives 1.IEEE to Engage, Bridge and Create - relationships with industries, professionals and corporates Projects / Tasks 1.Engage: Creating window for engaging practitioners at companies 2.Bridge : Bridging the gap between academia and industry 3.Create : Encourage Technology entrepreneurship through IEEE TECHSTART program Project / Task Measurable Engage : a.Goal 1: 3 IEEE SMART TECH Workshops ( MAW) with in R10 with focus on hands-on technology. Target India, Australia and Singapore b.Goal 2: TENDUSTRY - Industry Session at TENCON 2015 and TENSYMP 2015 Bridge: a.Goal 3: IEEE Interns : Internship initiative launched with a portal in India as part of India initiative Create a.Goal 4: Promote Technology entrepreneurship with in IEEE members particularly IEEE Student and YP members with IEEE TECHSTART ( linked with India initiatives and R10 YP) b. Goal 5: MOU with Microsoft Ventures, Google Ventures, IBM Startup etc in working together with IEEE TECHSTART program Committee Structure 1.Chair: Ravikiran Annaswamy 2.Members: Mithun Bhaskar, Tathagat Varma, Zheng Liu, Dr Narendra Kumar, Ariedf Gunawan, Claudio Insaurralde Budget 1.Project 1: $2500 * 2 = $5000, $ 1000 * 2 = $2000 2.Project 2: $ 0 3.Project 3: $ 0 4.Project 4 :$ 0 Total Proposed Budget: $ 7000 Timeline 1.Project 1: Completion by Dec 2015 2.Project 2: Completion by June 2015 3.Project 3: Completion by Aug 2015

Engage : Creating window for engaging practitioners at companies Goal 1: 3 IEEE SMART TECH Workshops ( MAW) with in R10 with focus on hands-on technology. Target India, Australia Goal 2: TENDUSTRY - Industry Session at TENCON 2015 and TENSYMP 2015 Budget breakdown –Expenses ($$) Smart-tech Workshop : $5,000.00 –India : Budget of $ 2500, exact amount based on the section conducting the event –Australia : Budget of $ 2500, exact amount based on the section conducting the event TENSYMP : Max $ 1000 - Gurarat section is medium section so will get a support of up to 50% based on their contribution. TENCON : Max $ 1000 - Macau section is small section so they get 100% support –Income From Region 10 ($$) = $ 7500

Bridge: Bridging the gap between academia and industry Goal 3: IEEE Interns : Internship initiative launched with a portal in India as part of India initiative Mainly driven by the India strategy team, offer advisory support and possible extension to other R10 countries Budget breakdown –Expenses ($$) $ 0 –Income $ 0

Create : Encourage Technology entrepreneurship - IEEE TECHSTART Goal 4: Promote Technology entrepreneurship with in IEEE members particularly IEEE Student and YP members Value : Position IEEE as a player in Startup community and provide visibility to IEEE member founded companies increasing engagement with future industry players TECHSTARTS Program ( www.ieeetechstarts.org)www.ieeetechstarts.org –Platform for all IEEE members interested in startup. Annually select 10 companies across R10 for benefits by partners like Microsoft, Google, IBM etc –portal which showcases startups by ieee members in R10 where at least one founder is an IEEE member –Companies featured with information about them clearly available and how IEEE added value to them.

Create : Encourage Technology entrepreneurship - IEEE TECHSTART –R10 summit at YP congress as planned by Ranjit –Showcasing ideas from AIYEHUM contests Sight/ HTC projects Budget breakdown –Expenses ($$) = $0 ( Budget part of R10 ECIM ) creating a portal ($ 500) digital marketing ($ 500) –Income $ 0 from R10 Income $ 1000 from R10

Create : Encourage Technology entrepreneurship - IEEE TECHSTART Goal 5: MOU with Microsoft Ventures, Google Ventures, IBM Startup etc in working together with IEEE TECHSTART program Budget breakdown –Expenses ($$) = $ 0 –Income Benefits for Startups in non-monetary value like cloud credits / online programs etc.
