#6 No Gain Without Pain 4 Principles that help us think clearly about our trials Bad things happen to all of us We have no control over many things that happen to us We do have complete control over how we respond Our response to our trials largely determines our spiritual growth The Flip-side Struggle in the Christian life is inevitable We encounter God’s grace through our trials It takes a mature Christian to understand this principle

Remind yourself of the promises of God 2. Give thanks for what you can give thanks for 3. Refuse to give in to bitterness and despair 4. Choose to believe in God 5. Make up your mind to go on with life

God uses hard-times to prepare us to minister to others 5. God uses hard times to prepare us for new understandings of His character

We can’t always know why things happen the way they do 2. When hard times come, we can know that God is at work in our trials for our benefit and for His glory
