Framework service contract Lot 4 Project: CDDA in conformity with INSPIRE Project status and overview of main issues Meeting 19.-20.02.2014 Darja Lihteneger
2
Project purpose -To provide the CDDA European data sets in conformity with the INSPIRE Protected sites Simple application schema – a prototype! -To set-up a proper workflow for transformation -Knowledge and information transfer to Eionet for a harmonised data flow based on conformity with INSPIRE
3
Project scope –transformation process / conformity with INSPIRE PS 3 CDDA data flow is not changed! Process Conceptual level Data Project scope Analysis and transformation: -Source (CDDA) and target (INSPIRE PS) data models -Matching table (mapping rules) -Transformation -Validation Published spatial data set in EEA data service (Shapefile) Input data INSPIRE conformant GML file(s) Output data CDDA data model INSPIRE PS data model Target data model Source data model Countries’ contributions (data)
4
Project Overview: 5 steps in CDDA – INSPIRE PS Simple applic.schema (1) Initial study and evaluation of the process (2) Evaluate conformity of the CDDA with INSPIRE PS Simple application schema + Proof of concept of transforma tion (3) Transform the CDDA data sets based on matching tables into GML + Few tests with national data (countries) (4) Run and document the complianc e tests - validation + Few tests with national data (countries) (5) Document the complete process September – November 2013 Until February 2014 March - June 2014 Until end of May 2014 Tests with countries (national data transformation into INSPIRE PS) DoneCurrent

Expected from current stage of the project Project stepsDeliverables Step-2: Detailed mapping between CDDA and INSPIRE PS Simple application schema (solved open issues!) Matching table = basis for data transformation Documenting gaps, issues, solutions and mapping rules Matching table with explanations and including clear mapping rules Report Step-3 proof of concept: Test data transformation into GML (solving issue with large GML files, GML headers, schema validation) Report Examples of GML files

Current issues – recent questions? IssueQuestions (1) INSPIRE PS Simple application schema extension Currently added: national designation categories as A,B,C Anything else needed: national designations? (2) Creating matching table To reflect all mapping rules and examples (3) Designations and legal references Role of designations from CDDA to INSPIRE PS? Can legal references from CDDA be mapped to INSPIRE PS (designation <> legal act on site level) (4) Unique identifiers and inspireId generation Rule to create inspireId out of CDDA fields! (5) Voidable properties Which properties are voidable (INSPIRE PS attribute; no value in CDDA)? How to encode them in GML? (6) Transformation into GML and validation Transformation into correct INSPIRE PS schema? Work with large GML files? How to validate? (7) Geometry: polygons Points and buffers around points – what is in CDDA? Coordinate reference system? Geographic extent (all CDDA or EU)
