Tribe Traditions One of the Ute Indians traditions is the Sun Dance. Also there is the Bear Dance. The Pow Wow ritual

What did they eat Animals were the Ute Indians main source of food. Mainly because none of the animals recourses were wasted. Also they ate insects.

Where did they live? The Ute Indians mostly lived in Colorado. But they also lived in Nevada and Arizona. They were nomadic so they didn’t stay in one place for a long time. They lived in teepees.

How did they dress The Ute Indians had a very unique sense of style. Ute woman usually wore long dresses made out of deer skin. Occasionally they wore basket hats. Ute men wore buckskin shirts and breech clothes. When it got cold they wore leather leggings.

Famous People One of the famous people was Chipeta. Another famous person in the Ute tribe was Chief Ouray.

Contributions The Bear dance a Native American dance that is still celebrated today. They also provided us with vast areas of farm land.

How many people were in the tribe The Ute Indian Tribe had about 4,000 to 10,000 people in there tribe.

Extra Information One cool thing about the Ute Indians is that Utah would not have its name without the Ute Indians. Another thing is that Ute means Land Of The Sun! Last but not least they were also nomadic.

About The Author I live in Roy city. One of my favorite book series is Wings Of Fire but I also enjoy Harry Potter and Michael Vey. One of my favorite activities is reading. One thing you need to know about me is I have three siblings. My older brother Dycen is 11 years old, my two twin sisters are 4 there names are Dani and Kendry. My goal of helping others is to set up a website that educates children. My favorite subject in school is of course reading.
