How do tornados form? Tornadoes form when two masses of different temepertures and humidity meet. If the lower layers of the atmosphere are unstable, a strong upward movement of warmer air is formed. This starts to spiral as it rises and intensifys.

Damage Tornadoes can overturn cars, and mobile homes. It can rip off the roofs of houses and uproot trees. Certain kinds of tornadoes can completely lift houses from their foundations.

Tornados mostly occur in Texas, Oaklahoma, Missiouri, Kanasas and illinois

Safety precautions The safest place to be during a tornado is in a basement of a well built building. You should stay away from windows and doors that could break and fly through the air. If you outdoors move to a building or lie flat in a ditch

History On may 7, 1995 18 people were killed in a texas twister. One mans body was found 130 feet away from the actual tornado was found. one of the all-time worst tornado disasters occurred on April 3-4, 1974, when 148 twisters struck 13 states causing more than 300 deaths.

What is the most recent tornados to occur? Hurricane Gustav spawn at least 25 tornadoes as it went ashore. One of them struck a mobile home near Mamou, Evangeline Parish, Louisiana at 3:30 am. It destroyed a mobile home, killing a man and a woman. From wikipedia.com
