Unioncamere del Veneto – Eurosportello Veneto Eurosportello Veneto coordinates the activities of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) for the Northern East of Italy Eurosportello Veneto cooperates with: The EU Commission and the other EU institutions The 500 members of Enterprise Europe Network The Veneto Region The national and regional system of the Chambers of Commerce The Brussels Delegation of Unioncamere Veneto – Veneto Region APRE (Agency for the Promotion of European Research) Eurosportello Veneto leads the GYMNASIUM consortium since the Pilot Phase (2009) of the EYE Programme Eurosportello Veneto has been awarded by the European Commission as Best Performing IO in 2012; It is part of the EuropeanTask Force for the design of the future EYE Framework Programme.

Concept of EYE Programme European exchange programme: Nascent or new entrepreneurs learn from an experienced entrepreneur established in another Member State. How? New entrepreneurs travel to an experienced entrepreneur in another EU country and work with him/her for 1 to 6 months. The matching of the new entrepreneurs with the host entrepreneurs is carried out with the help of the intermediary organisations.

What is the specific objective? Help new entrepreneurs to acquire relevant skills for running and developing an SME They enrich their experiences, learning and networking by spending periods in enterprises run by experienced entrepreneurs in other EU Member States. Enhancing entrepreneurship and internationalisation: SMEs get the opportunity to explore markets abroad Increasing Competitiveness of start-up entrepreneurs and new and established SMEs in the EU (mutual knowledge transfer) 5

Spends from 1 to 6 months abroad New Entrepreneur Learning on-the-job – exchange of best practises – access to new markets – networking Main Actors: Host (experienced) Entrepreneur Facilitators: Intermediary Organisations, Support Office, EASME

Who can participate? New entrepreneurs (NE): entrepreneurs active for less than 3 years (start-ups/business transfers) or Wannabe (receiving a monthly financial assistance from the programme to cover travel, housing and subsistence expenses during the time of the stay with the host entrepreneur) Host entrepreneurs (HE): experienced entrepreneurs active for more than 3 years

learning from an experienced entrepreneur in another EU country how to best start and manage an SME; develop international connections and knowledge about foreign markets; benefit from possible co-venturing opportunities and the development of cross-border markets; gain insights into a different cultural and organizational setting; understand the regulatory framework in another EU country. What are the potential benefits for NEs?

gain of knowledge about foreign markets and an opportunity to internationalize the business; improved growth potential and opportunity to establish a new business partnership with an NE from another country; interaction with the other HEs and become part of a dynamic European business network of successful entrepreneurs What are the potential benefits for HEs? Work with a motivated NE who has new ideas and fresh views; access to new skills and innovative knowledge provided by the NE that an SME might not have;

Silvia Rama, professional from Verona, founder of Di- Vinum (www.di-vinum.it), a Communication and Marketing business specialised in wine and agri-food. She spent 3 months (along all 2012) in Denmark at MMN Arr. & Event, a Danish tour operator with the entrepreneur Michael Skovgaard. Silvia Rama – “Young” Professional in the Wine sector From this exchange they had the idea of creating holiday packages for “wine-lovers” with the purpose of promoting Italian wines in Northern Europe.
