8 Presidents’ Conference Call – 8.10.15 Gender Equity in Medical Research (G.E.M.): What is the problem?  Women and men often present different symptoms for the same diseases.  Women also react differently to certain drugs and medical devices.  However, women only represent one- third of the participants in clinical trials to test drugs and devices.  This leads to misdiagnoses and compromised care for women.
