Workshop: Improving your 6. Action Plans-Identifying key relevant indicators in the management focus
17
Objectives: This session will present: – The cohort analysis on MPA rating – Identify critical management focus: areas that needs improvement Expected output – Improved Action Plan [key activities to address relevant indicators] Process: – Presentation – Series of Workshop: Groups, Individual and grouping Materials: – Action plan – Series of Workshop: Individual and grouping
18
Guided Assessment 1: Whole Group Identify the relevant indicators in each management focus that requires work or maintain [if achieved] to up to Level 3 – Instructions: Open your MPA form tab [I sent you yesterday] Open action plan tab Write the indicators identified as we go along Highlight the added indicators to distinguish them from original
19
MPA effectiveness Rating
20
How to get to level 2 and 3? Collaborative patrolling and surveillance, records maintained and open to everyone; Education program sustained for public awareness; Fishing effectively stopped within MPA; Illegal and destructive fishing reduced outside of MPA [5 km radius]; Budget from LGU or other resources allotted and accessible for MPA management; MB active and supported by legal instrument; MPA; billboards/boundary markers maintained Ordinance passed and approved; MP adopted and legitimized by the LGU; MB formed and functional; Budget for Year 1 allocated; Enforcement initiative allocated; Boundaries delineated; Signboards and billboards; MPA outposts and other structures; Biophysical monitoring [7/17] Level 1: 10/17 These are PERFORMANCE INDICATORS. Build on this Level fast; use this Level to build evidence to get to the next Level: These are RESULTS INDICATORS. If you document well your achievements in level 2, Level 3 will be easy

43
What is MPA-GMP (BROP)? A guide for the implementers (TWG / ManCom) that analyzes results of PCRA and offers a road map for improving MPA governance A document containing what, when who, budget A living document that will be enhanced throughout the Module 3
44
Rundown of documents: MPA-GMP Format – Please take into account dates for: Vulnerability Assessment [CC stuff] Fisheries Survey [Biomass] Biophysical survey [monitoring] Grading system
