History  The idea came from Forrest Mars Sr. of Mars Candy in 1930  Founders of M&M were Forrest Mars and Bruce Murrie of Hershey  In 1941, M&M’s chocolate candies were introduced to American GI’s serving in WWII  Forrest Mars got the idea from the Spanish Civil War when he saw soldiers eating chocolate pellets with a hard shell
