2 O RIGINS OF P ROJECT Diana A. of WI Health Department asked if Mary Bohning would like to sit in on a Healthy Youth Kenosha County Coalition board XTEN Industries donated 5 acres to be used for the first 13 beds. From these beds, produce was sold at the Kenosha Harbor Market.

4 U PDATE ON P ROGRESS 10 beds were built, 8 at EBSOLA and 2 at KTEC Students at both schools have participated in garden bed care, harvest and eating of the fresh greens Container gardens for classrooms have been constructed and are ready to go into classrooms at EBSOLA We have been picked up by the Kenosha Health Department to expand the program to 3 more schools in 2011

5 U PDATES CONT ’ D KUSD has agreed to buy our produce for the lunch program KUSD Assistant Superintendant met on Friday to discuss putting a garden at every school We’ve attended and been invited to join the Sustainable Edible Economic Development(SEED) committee focus is buy Wisconsin, Buy Local
