11 Heads Together! Brainstorm a list of books you like to use with your ESL students. Include books that connect with content. Include books that make cultural connections. Include books that are of high interest to ESL students. Identify which grade/age. Estimate reading levels for the books.

25 Teach the Text Backwards Application/Extension Step 1. Your principal has decided to ban, or not allow, recess. As a result, you are going to start a new school. Write a Declaration of Independence declaring your independence from the school, and explain why you would like to start a new school. “We the founding students, declare our independence from your school.
