Aug 2014: Working Group identified following key questions: What are the potential benefits of IS (for businesses and the economy) in SA? (“ROI” for government) Is there currently an enabling environment for this? How do we create an enabling environment for this (policy, incentives)? Is it necessary to develop a separate IS strategy or can existing strategies / policies be used? How do we shape the existing / fledgling programmes to ensure IS is embedded in industry practice? Key Questions

Phase one Scoping exercise concluded by external service provider. o Through consultative process with Steering Committee wider industry stakeholder input Phase two: Strategy development -Leading institution (NCPC-SA ) with various partners and players in the manufacturing sectors Phase three: Implementation WAY FORWARD
