3 09/07/04DV Training June 20043 The Benefits of Training  Brutally Competitive world.  Career development requires continual up-skilling (just to stand still)  Technology & demographic changes drive requirements for “more value-add” skills  Training enhances flexibility; keep more options open  DVG.  Complicated range of businesses; you need to understand them to be fully effective  Small group; ambitious growth targets. We will not achieve them unless our people grow fast as well (remember PERMIT 10-15%+)  DV Committed to grow our people; need training to take on more responsibilities  Policy now is: everyone is expected to know. Ignorance is no longer allowed.
