The sun never sets on USASMDC/ARSTRAT “Secure the High Ground” Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) Variant OPERATIONAL APPROACH Simultaneous input/display both from and to DoD Active/National Guard forces and Civil Agencies Combining Situational Awareness (SA) with mission tracking capabilities Usable by all levels of Government/First Responders; No special skill /specialty needed Approved for use on both NIPRNet and Open Internet w/ approved Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) Modern web-based architecture implementation. No software download or install required. Centrally hosted, URL access for distributed users using mobile devices & smartphones Government-owned, non-proprietary solution CUMULATIVE EFFECT Expanded Event/Incident total force collaboration Greater access & distribution of DSCA information Promotes focus on analysis & operations vs. mission tracking The Air & Missile Defense Explorer (AMD Explorer) DSCA variant delivers improved situational awareness and decision support data to all DSCA mission stakeholder organizations and individuals. AMD Explorer is part of the Advanced Warfare Environment (AWarE) software tool suite developed by the USASMDC/ARSTRAT’s GMD Prototyping and Experimentation Division. The DSCA variant to the AMD Explorer capability exposes and distributes data and provides services at enterprise, desktop, and mobile user levels. Net-Centric capabilities include track services (e.g., Blue Force Tracking via U.S. Northern Command), collaboration & planning tool exposure, analysis, mapping services, and interoperability gained through migration away from a “box system” approach to a web services approach. The sun never sets on USASMDC/ARSTRAT “Secure the High Ground” Point your Internet browser to the address for the desired site above. When the page with the “Log in” prompt appears, click the Register link to bring up the Registration page. The first time you log in, the Edit My User Settings page will automatically be displayed. You’ll need to select an option from a drop-down listbox for each field listed after Username. (The changes you make to your User Settings will be saved automatically.) If you’re assigned to an actual unit that is using the AMD Explorer Dashboard (DSCA), select your Section, Home Command, Unit, and Event. For the DSCA_guest use the following settings: Section: Guest Home Command: AFNORTH Unit: Other Event: 2015 Papal Visit On subsequent logins, you’ll be taken directly to the Dashboard’s main page. To get there now (or at any time, from any page), click the “Dashboard” button on the upper banner. Clicking the Help button near the upper right corner of any page will bring up a printable (PDF format) collection of Task Sheets that explain the various functions of the Dashboard and are suitable for use as a self-training guide. (Per Army security requirements, all fields must be filled in.) Note: On NIPRNet/Internet, you won’t be able to log in until your registration has been approved (A few minutes to a few hour process).
