3. Pre-Assessment Why do we research topics? What are the parts to a good story? Beginning End How do you know when you are ready to make a final copy of your work?

4. Library Search Which topic did you choose to do more research on? Are you searching for a certain piece of information? What did you learn about in the book that you want to do more research on?

5. Written Story Organize the information you have found on the Graphic Organizer given to you Decide what information is necessary to be included in your story Outline the parts of a story Introduction, Body, Conclusion Events, Details, Characters, Setting Write your story, then read it to determine if changes should be made. Have a partner read it again.

6. Presentation Name the disaster that you chose to write about When did this occur? Were there any indications it was going to happen? How did people react to the news of it? Read your story Show a picture that you think best represents the disaster.
