8 th Grade Science Slime Time Using borax and glue, we are going to make slime! Friday, April 26, 2013
32
8 th Grade Science Slime Time 1.Empty half (2 oz.) of the bottle of glue into a pie pan or mixing bowl. 2.Using the funnel, fill half of the empty bottle with warm water and shake. (Put the lid on first!) 3.Pour the glue-water mixture into the pie pan or mixing bowl and use a spoon to mix well. 4.Add food coloring (5-10 drops TOTAL). Friday, April 26, 2013
33
8 th Grade Science Slime Time 5. Measure 50 mL of warm water into the beaker and add HALF a spoonful of Borax powder to the water. 6. Stir the solution – don’t worry if all of the powder dissolves. This Borax solution is the secret linking agent that causes the Elmer’s Glue molecules to turn into slime. 7. While stirring the glue in the pie pan, slowly add the Borax solution. -You may need to abandon the spoon and use your hands to do the serious mixing. - Keep adding the Borax solution to the glue mixture (don’t stop mixing) until you get a perfect batch of Elmer’s slime. Friday, April 26, 2013
