FOCUS ON THE ESSENTIAL STANDARDS “Looking forward” at Essential Standards being assessed on the upcoming benchmark assessment using the Yearlong Assessment Blueprint Analyzing the WA State Performance Expectations to get more detailed information Reviewing items from Data Director as examples Looking at upcoming chapter/unit work

MATH BENCHMARK ASSESSMENT Given three times a year Fall, Winter, Spring K-6 Complete prior to Measurement of Student Progress (MSP) Approximately 24 items per assessment 6 items per essential standard Scored onsite Scanned same day Teachers have data immediately

LOOKING AT DATA Meet as a staff to review Data Director access Identify reports that will be most useful to our work Give some time to initially look at the data Begin the reflection towards “next steps”

PLANNING INSTRUCTION What strategies will we implement as a team to improve student achievement based on the data? Use Data Director item bank to collect similar items to be used for extra practice and assessment. What evidence will show that student achievement improved as a result?

MONITORING DATA Using multiple sources of data to monitor student progress with a “mini-action plan” Making adjustments along the way Monitoring progress towards our target Reviewing MSP Data and our target students
