5. Ministerial Order (MO): is the first step in putting Inspiring Education into action. It is the basis for constructing curriculum in Alberta schools to meet 21 century learner needs, and sets forth the legal mandate of what is to be taught in Alberta Schools. The Ministerial Order (May 6, 2013) defines the 21 st century Alberta learner as: Engaged Students, Ethical citizens, with an Entrepreneurial Spirit. Cross-Curricular Competencies: A cross-curricular competency is an interrelated set of attitudes, skills, and knowledge that are drawn upon and applied to a particular context for successful learning and living. 16. Culture of Health and Safety Health and safety concerns in the CTF learning environment vary greatly from occupational area to occupational area. By promoting awareness of health and safety throughout the CTF learning environment, students develop a positive attitude toward their safety and that of others. The attitudes, skills, knowledge and values they develop around safety will eventually permeate into both their private and professional lives.
