Sollander ST Strategy (1) Needs in terms of controls are not uniform ST-AA, ST-MO: –Some common requirements: Multi-platform Data exchange and integration CERN wide support –Various systems used today TDS (component ware) LabView, FactoryLink, DataViews, Tcl/Tk –PVSS can fit (if evaluation results are positive) –Towards a single SCADA by LHC start-up

Sollander ST Strategy (2) ST-CV, ST-EL, ST-TFM: –Control requirements are specific to their processes –Standard industrial control architectures for the LHC in use Feasibility and design phases have been completed Installations are already in operation Implementation is integrated in large-scale industrial contracts Long-term maintainability with C168 contract ST-CV, ST-TFM: Wizcon ® –Project started in 1997 –Israeli product (free) –PVSS/Wizcon ® integration foreseen with Atlas/CMS ST-EL: Scatex ® –Project started in 1998 –Specifically adapted to ENS requirements –Turn-key approach
