Typical Camp Day (6-9 grade) 8 hour day 8am -12 noon Role Call – Introductions Camp Prayer / Stretch Ball Handling Stations Competition Shooting Stations Competition Creating Space/ Guard Moves / Post Moves Stations 1 on 1 Guard Competition 1 on 1 Post Competition Free Throw Stations 12 noon – 1 pm Bring your own sack lunch 1 pm -5 pm Warm up / stretch / discussion Defense Stations(on ball) Competition Rebounding Stations Mikan Competition Passing Stations 1 on 1 Guard Competition Shooting Stations Shooting / Free Throw Competition 1 on 1 Post Competition Guest Speaker / Camp Devotion What to expect: IAS emphasizes the development of fundamental skills. Daily instruction, station work and Competition are designed to encourage the mastery of basic skills. The fundamental skills that will be covered are shooting, passing, defense, ball-handling, guard moves, post moves and rebounding. Campers will also learn “How to practice on your own” to get the best out of their own practicing. Awards: – Hustle Award, All Star Shooting Champ, Free Throw Champ, One on One Post Champ, One on One Guard Champ, Dribble Champ, Mikan. What to bring: shirt, shorts, shoes, sack lunch COACHING STAFF Our coaching staff provides detailed instruction on ball handling, shooting, passing, dribbling, footwork, defense and rebounding. Each coach is hand selected to bring knowledge and Experience. All IAS coaching staff workers are current coaches, past Coaches, and / or current players. Camp Director: Coach Doug Cox is a current basketball Coach at Simla High School. He has been the director of The IAS camp for the past 12 years. He has been an active Coach with girls and boys from the 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A level for 16 years. Since 2000, IAS Basketball Camp has been an Eastern Colorado Springs, Colorado Tradition teaching young basketball enthusiasts the fundamentals to make them great players. This is an All Star Camp which is designed to challenge and push the serious player to be the best they can be. IAS Basketball Camp specializes in Individual Skill Development. CAMP GOALS Teach fundamental basketball skills appropriate to age and skill levels. Provide opportunities for individual instruction and Intense competition in games and contests. Promote the concepts of teamwork, character and respect Develop listening & motivational skills, confidence & love of the game. Provide fun and challenging competition activities. Campers will participate in drills along with individual competitions. Campers receive free basketball, camp t-shirt and handbook! CAMP STORE – depends on what is available Water, sport drinks, camp shorts, player development Books and videos, sweat shirts. DEPOSIT $35.00 holds a camper spot!
