CCA chosen as lead agency Focused on noncustodial parents - recruit 1000 eligible persons; randomly select 500 for services Asked for $5.98 million Used PSI model of lead agency and collaborative service strategy through contracts for essential services and supports Planned 3 case management sites Planned 4 transitional work crews Enhancements included: Legal – Family law, Civic Restoration Literacy/Education – Basic Ed, Pre-GED, Certificate Industry-Recognized Credentials – NWRC, NCRC Job Skill Training – Certificate, completion of degree Programs Life Skills Training - Parenting/ Communication/Relationships Participant Supports – clothing, tools, transportation Family Mediation Financial Literacy – Asset Building, Home Ownership Referrals – MH, DV, D & A counseling

Just over 90 applications nationwide Chose 14 to do site reviews – ours was June 2 Focus was on ability to carry out proposal and program: Validity of collaborations Ability to recruit necessary numbers Strength of lead agency’s fiscal ability Contacted on June 24 7 grants awarded CCA awarded $5.7 million National meeting July 27-28 to hear details
