2 LOCATION CSULA is 5 minutes east of downtown Los Angeles

3  Visit the beach…… Los Angeles has different different beaches like the Santa Monica Beach, Venice Beach, Redondo Beach  Eat food from different countries…… Los Angeles is very diverse so with that comes tons of restaurants that represent different cultures.  Hiking up to the Hollywood sign or at Griffin Park to get great views of the city. 3 THINGS TO DO IN LOS ANGELES

4  H.S. diploma required  Receive at least a C in required high school courses.  H.S. courses required are the following:  Art 1 year; 1 recommended  English 4 years required  Foreign Language 2 years required; 3 years recommended  History 1 year required  Science Lab 2 years required; 3 years recommended  Social Studies 1 year required  Math 3 years required  Academic Elective 1 year required  Must take the SAT or ACT ADMISSIONS

5  Factors that play an important role in admissions is the following  Academic GPA  Rigor of classes (did you take AP’s and honors classes)  SAT and ACT scores (must meet the SAT or ACT mark on the university’s eligibility matrix.  One tip to make you competitive is to take challenging courses like AP and Honors classes  You would apply the first semester of your senior year and the application is due November 30 th. 7  In criminal justice you will study management practices to prepare for a leadership career in law enforcement. You will learn the day to day operations of a law enforcement agency and what it takes to manage them.  The suggested high school courses for this class are the following:  AP Psychology  AP U.S. Government & Politics  U.S. History  Sociology  Typical college courses in this major:  Criminal Justice Administration  Criminal Law  Police & Community Relations  Police organization and administration  The criminal Justice major does require a supplemental application.  You apply after you have finished required courses at Cal state LA  You must have a 2.75 in those courses CRIMINAL JUSTICE

9  Cal State Los Angeles is a division 2 university in the following sports:  Baseball (men only)  Basketball  Cross-Country (women only)  Soccer  Tennis (women only)  Track outdoor (men only)  Cal State also has intramural and club sports so you can continue to play even if it is not official. 18  Yes.  The school is relatively affordable.  Small class sizes, e.g. average 27:1.  Out of 671 colleges, CSULA’s master’s programs ranked 7 th.  CSULA has multiple clubs that focus on business and finance.  Networking  Future opportunities WOULD I ATTEND THIS COLLEGE?
