18 Small, Minority, Woman-Owned Business (SMWBE) Update 2012 Bond A&E contracts approved participation plans: 79 architectural and engineering firms (Primes and Subs) 79 (100%) firms locally Headquartered/local office 57 (72%) primes and subs certified as SBE, MBE, or WBE Since October 2012 added 11 S/M/WBE firms as follows: 1 SBE, 5 AABE, 1 ABE, 2 HABE, 2 WBE 17 (57%) contracts include SBE Primes 12 (40%) contracts include M/WBE Primes 18

Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) Program promotes utilization of SMWBEs  Combines best practices, including:  Aspirational Goals  Contract by Contract Goal Setting  Central Vendor Registry Applies to all COSA construction and A&E contracts over $50,000  Even if no solicitation is issued, goal setting process remains the same for:  Cooperative agreements  Funding agreements  Developer agreements 21
