31 Local Database Metadata is stored in Dublin Core format and can be updated online using Perl cgi programs (outside the SiteSearch environment)

38 Search for desired materials After patron has authenticated, a “request” button appears on the full record display for library materials

40 Request the book Patron fills out a form indicating loan preferences Once submitted, the request is transmitted via email from the SiteSearch environment to the VDX environment

42 View my Active Requests A SiteSearch gadget makes a JDBC call to the VDX Oracle database and looks up all active requests for the current user, and displays these in an html table
