Cornwallis trapped at Yorktown French forces lead by Rochambeau and Lafayette on land trapped the British. French Admiral De Grasse first defeated the British naval forces then, blockaded the British, awaiting Washingtons arrival. Note the German commander – Von Steuben

Short Answer Essay: 1. What advantages did BOTH the Americans and the British have in the American Revolution? And, in the end, why do you believe the Americans won? 2. Why did the British believe that they had the right to control the American Colonies (taxes, legislation, etc.)? As well, why did the American Colonies believe that they had the right to declare their independence from Britain (refusing to pay their taxes, obey the British Parliament and King, etc.)?
