13. Slaughterhouses Control Ministry of Agriculture through the veterinary department has a monitoring and supervisory action on slaughterhouses (livestock & Poultry). Slaughterhouses Division within the department is the responsible official agency to do such supervision and monitoring.

Responsibilities of Slaughterhouses Division Regular visits are conducted to central and regional slaughterhouses for checking on the: –The routine meat inspection practices on livestock and poultry carcasses –Hygienic practices inside the slaughterhouse –Sanitary environment inside the slaughterhouse

15. Responsibilities of Slaughterhouses Division Managing the monthly, quarterly and annual reports submitted form the slaughterhouses, illustrating the followings: –Species of slaughtered animals –Number of slaughtered animals –Number of condemned carcasses –Reasons for condemnation
