Basic background information Age-30 Education and/or military service – Yale, U.S. Army Occupation- Bond Salesman Residency or residencies – West Egg parent's backgrounds – wealthy parents hobbies or activities – reading, Jordan Relationships – i.e. – Neighbor of Gatsby, cousin of Daisy, has a thing with Jordan Behavior analysis – Nick is the narrator of the story and comes from a wealthy family. He graduated from Yale and is a Bond Salesman. He served in the war with Gatsby and is now his neighbor. He is cousin to Daisy and helps her reunite with Gatsby. He says that one of his strongest properties is that he is un- judgmental, even though he spends the whole book judging people. Nick wants to be more like Gatsby and starts to almost idolize him.

Basic background information Age - 29 Education and/or military service - Oxford, US Army Occupation- Bootlegger Residency or residencies – West Egg parent's backgrounds – Poor farmer Throws partys, buying nice clothing, creeping on Daisy Relationships – i.e. – In love with Daisy, neighbor of Nick Behavior analysis – Gatsby grew up without much money under the name of Jay Gats. He grew up on a farm and then worked at a lake for a while where he met Mr. Cody. After he met Cody he was determined to become wealthy by any and all means. He joins the army where he meets and falls in love with Daisy, and goes to Oxford for about half a year through a program in the military. He makes all his wealth through illegal activities. He throws large parties in hopes of meeting up with Daisy again and is basically obsessed with her. He is killed by George after he is falsely thought to have had an affair with Myrtle.

Basic background information Age - 23 Education and/or military service - College Occupation - unknown Residency or residencies – East Egg parent's backgrounds – i.e. occupation, wealth, etc. hobbies or activities- creating love triangles Relationships – i.e. – Married to Tom, used to be in love with Gatsby, and is cousin of Nick Behavior analysis – Daisy is kind of crazy. She met Gatsby when he was serving overseas and fell in love with him. She promised him that she would wait for him to return from the war then they would marry. In that time though she met Tom and married him mainly because of his social and economic status. When she reunites with Gatsby in the book she is obviously still in love with him and starts to have an affair with him. After Tom finds out he calls them out and makes her decide and she chooses to stay with Tom. When driving back home she hits Myrtle with Gatsby’s car which eventually leads to his death.

Basic background information Age- 35 Education and/or military service - Yale Occupation- Stock Broker residency or residencies – East Egg parent's backgrounds – wealthy family hobbies or activities- polo player Relationships – i.e. – Married to Daisy and having an affair with Myrtle Behavior analysis – Tom is the “villain” of the book. He is having an affair with Myrtle throughout the book. He is a large man and is abusive evident by when he breaks Myrtle’s nose at a party. When he finds out that his wife is cheating on him with Gatsby though he finds it unbelievable and talks Daisy into staying with him. After Daisy kills Myrtle with it is Tom who tells George that it was Gatsby’s car making George think that Gatsby was having the affair Myrtle instead of Tom, leading to Gatsby’s death.

Basic background information Age- 23 Education and/or military service - College Occupation- Golfer residency or residencies - unknown parent's backgrounds – unknown hobbies or activities – golf and cheating Relationships – i.e. – Dating Nick, best friend of Daisy Behavior analysis – Jordan is flirtatious and an un-honest person by nature. She is a professional golfer and it is common knowledge that she cheats. Daisy sets her up with Nick and they have a quiet relationship. At the end of their relationship Nick breaks it off with her and finds out that she was actual engaged to someone else.

Basic background information Age- 33 Education and/or military service - None known of Occupation- helps at gas station Residency or residencies – Valley of Ashes, apartment in New York parent's backgrounds – unkown hobbies or activities- affairs Relationships – Married to George, having an affair with Tom Behavior analysis – Myrtle is described as a girl with curves and not as well put together as Daisy. She doesn’t come from wealth and live with her husband at a car shop. She has an affair with Tom and is kind of gold digging. She can’t stand her husband who is a little clueless. After she gets in an argument with George she is hit by Daisy.

He owns a car shop in the Valley of Ashes and is married to Myrtle who is having an affair with Tom. Throughout most of the book he fails to realize that his wife is trying to leave him and when he finds out he tries to get her to move back west with him. She gets in a big argument with him and is hit by a car and dies. George searches out Tom who tells him that it was Gatsby’s car. He goes to Gatsby’s house and shoots him because he thinks that he was having an affair with Myrtle.

Nick meets him at a restaurant with Gatsby. When Gatsby is killed he doesn’t attend the funeral showing the type of person he was.
