2 Purpose of Future Activist Programme 09/10 Complete and expand the RCN FA Programme UK wide u Implement and evaluate a standardised learning and development programme for RCN Activists across the UK and develop and implement a systematic approach to reviewing the role descriptors for each activist role u Identify and work with a professional accreditation provider to demonstrate the above programme meets UK standards u Design and implement a UK mentorship programme that enables RCN representatives to be mentored in the role to demonstrate their competence u Promote the role of the RCN Representatives in the workplace and continue to build a vibrant activist community throughout the UK using a range of learning resources, information sources and financial opportunities, for example UnionLearn Funding Mentorship of RCN Representatives Project Steering Group

3 During 2007 UKCRLD (now UKCALD) agreed; u Need for UK-wide mentorship framework u Framework should be underpinned by ENTO standards u Should take into account lessons learned from staff OD mentorship programme u Should take into account findings from mentorship questionnaires submitted by RCN Boards u 4 country project group be established Mentorship of RCN Representatives Project Steering Group
