3 Foundation of MapWorks

4 What is Mapworks? Mapworks is a research-based, comprehensive, student retention and success system. Mapworks leverages predictive analytics to identify at-risk students.

5 The 360° View

6 Mapworks Risk Indicator
Rooted in research Over 40 predictive models 23 years of data Customized models 40 predictive models: No campus is alike – if our standard models do not fit the data a campus presents, we will create a new model.

7 Mapworks Empowers Campus Professionals
Identify at-risk students early in the fall term to have the greatest impact on student success and retention. Intervene with at-risk students by minimizing the time required to diagnose problems and target relevant issues. Continuously evaluate the at-risk status of students throughout the year. Engage students through personalized feedback.

10 The Process

11 Why it Works: The Mapworks Process

12 Customized Connections for Effective Intervention

13 Faculty/Staff can: Identify Log Share Report students who are at risk
students who need assistance Log Contacts Notes Share information with colleagues tasks with students for them to complete Report aggregate data to university officials responses or profile characteristics to referral offices Student names for target marketing efforts

14 Faculty/ Staff Dashboard

15 Faculty / Staff Dashboard: Navigation Bar
Slightly different than the past Has Logo Dashboard Reports Search My Account Help Pages Student Search (for an individual student)

16 Dashboard

17 Dashboard: Survey Quick view of surveys Across all survey cohorts
Launch / close dates Response rates Sortable by Survey – all active survey cohorts will appear under 1 survey heading; this module will be updated with appropriate survey cohort and survey naming conventions

18 Dashboard: My Students
All Students to whom you have access (per permissions) Risk Indicator distribution High Priority Students

19 Dashboard: Top 5 Issues Mirror the Top 5 Issues section from Our Students report Survey & survey cohort specific Populated after a survey closes for a survey cohort ; displays active academic year surveys / survey cohorts only; Survey with most recent close date is the default display with dropdown menu options to access other surveys/survey cohorts; Clicking on the issue will take you to a Search result (list of students to whom the issue applies) ;

23 Student Profile: Talking Points
Summary of Strengths & Weaknesses Based on a mix of: Standard Profile Item(s) Survey Response(s) Academic Updates Offered in reverse chronological order Adds any time relevant data becomes available

24 Student Profile: Talking Points (mock-up)
Explain the dates associated with talking points  dates are date the information became available Animations for “Show ALL WEAKNESSES at once” & “Show ALL STRENGTHS at once”

25 Student Profile: Activity Stream
Reverse chronological listing of Notes, Contacts, Referrals, and Appointments

26 Student Profile: Activity Stream
Activity Modules Contacts REFERRAL: If the referral has been assigned to you, you will see the yellow box. Yellow box remains until you click into the referral – once you have viewed the referral once, the yellow box will disappear. APPOINTMENT: If you have a scheduled appointment with the individual student, you will see the yellow box until the appointment takes place. Numbers for users on the Activity counts may not be the same. Depending on how many have been “playing” in the training site
