PBIS Team Guiding Questions Do we have representation of our school staff? Who else needs to be included? Who is our team leader? What are the roles and responsibilities of the team leader? What training is necessary for the new procedures and practices to be implemented? –Does non-certified staff require special training? How will that be provided? –Who will do the training / coaching? –How will feedback be provided to training recipients? What type of on-going support is needed to support staff in implementation? How will the new procedures and practices be communicated to parents?

PBIS Team Examples

Faculty/Staff Commitment 5. Faculty are aware of behavior problems across school –Data regarding school-wide behavior is shared at least monthly 6. Faculty involved in establishing and reviewing goals –Most faculty participate in establishing PBIS goals on at least an annual basis 7. Faculty feedback obtained throughout the year –Faculty given opportunity to provide feedback, offer suggestions and to make choices through consensus building

Consensus  Consensus means that I agree to: provide input in determining what our school’s problems are and what our goals should be make decisions about rules, expectations, and procedures in the commons areas of the school as a school community Follow through with all school-wide decisions, regardless of my feelings for any particular decision Commit to positive behavior support systems for a full year - allowing performance toward our goal to determine future plans **some schools vote by vote/ballot, hands/vote, or a larger survey-it is important to get buy-in without sabotage-ask for short term buy in and show your staff the data every time you meet with them!!!! Celebrate success, even the small accomplishments!!!

Faculty/Staff Commitment Guiding Questions When will overview be provided to all staff? How will we determine we have 80% commitment? How will we keep buy in? How will we make it easy for staff to implement? How and when will data be reviewed? –Email, newsletter, staff meeting, post in staff areas
