2 Background AB1761 (Sweeney, 1998) required the California Department of Education to administer statewide education technology services These services are to be those “that are more efficiently and effectively provided on a statewide basis.”

4 Purpose Provide a “one-stop shop” for the identification of electronic learning resources that are aligned to standards and linked to lessons.

Review of existing technology evaluation criteria used by other states and agencies. Completion and review of matrix; gap analysis and development of additional criteria components. 36 Electronic Learning Resource (ELR) Review Process Review date scheduled ELR evaluation by CLRN reviewers Review edited online by CLRN editor Publisher notified and given password access to view draft review online Publisher checks factual accuracy of Review and submits corrections CLRN edits Review published online Publisher submits software or resource Publisher completes submission material online CLRN invites publisher to submit ELR or publisher requests review from CLRN Review goes live

37 CLRN Review Process 1.Publishers submit resources to CLRN 2. Resource is scheduled for the next available review date and sent to partner county office in charge of that curricular area.

39 CLRN Review Process If resource MEETS minimum requirements it is prepared for web site posting Complete review information will be sent to the publisher The publisher has 7 days to respond to the results The review is posted on the CLRN web site If resource DOES NOT MEET minimum requirements Complete review information will be sent to the publisher with suggestions for improvement Publisher can revise the resource and re-submit as appropriate
