At the age of 8 he had the body of a body builder. It detailed his constant training, diet, concern over drugs and the use of nutrition supplements. This showed me that even though he was doing lots of exercise it was placing a lot of pressure on his body. Magazine article To your good health. Shiree Schumacher. Next magazine About fitness / movement / health “There’s a definite relationship between movement in the body.. and performing in your life” Keeping fit has health benefits. This article discussed how doing small amounts of physical activity / exercise can help everybody and provide health benefits.

Society and Health It is estimated that if 10% more adults in NZ started doing regular exercise the government could save 35 million dollars a year This is because the rate of adults coming in with heart problems requiring treatment would be a lot lower.

SPARC SPARC have a one size fits all approach. Everyone should be doing - 30 minutes a day. Everyone should be doing - 30 minutes a day. For some people this is too much and for some it is too little. For some people this is too much and for some it is too little. However this is a simple message that is easy to follow for the majority of people.

Messages Some messages can have a negative affect on people. Many of the gym advertisements give the impression that if you exercise then you get a better body and by better they mean slim, toned and therefore more desirable or more successful. But this is not always true and can be very stressful for those who can not get the ideal shape

Fitness Predominantly concerned with physical well-being. At the least….. being able to work and have enough energy left for emergencies, leisure, living, eating etc
