Assessments Assessments based on the State of Ohio Standards Grade calculation –Summative (80%) vs. formative (20%) assessments –District Parent Meeting: Monday, September 18 at 7:30 at Hoover High School Auditorium Homework Quizzes and tests Projects and presentations

Homework Policy Study Skills Each Day Homework Planner –To be used every day –Means of communication –Each child will receive one homework pass each nine- weeks to be used on any daily homework assignment for any teacher.

Homework Policy-continued When an assignment is missed, the child will miss recess that day to complete the missing assignment. 3 missing assignments: a homework notice will be sent home to the parents to be signed and returned to school. 4 missing assignments: another homework notice will be sent home, and the student will also receive an after-school detention. 6 missing assignments: a homework notice will be sent home, an after-school detention will be assigned, and social privileges (i.e. nine-week party) will be revoked.

Classroom Expectations Each fifth grade teacher expects students to… Listen and follow directions. Complete all assignments on time. Be prepared for each class. Be respectful to others and their property. Always try their best!

Discipline Policy 1. Verbal warning 2. Child misses recess and a behavior notice is sent home. 3. Child misses recess, and a behavior notice and after-school detention are assigned. 4. Child misses recess, a behavior notice is sent home, and social privileges are revoked (i.e. nine week parties). Principal intervention may occur.
