Introduction Purpose of IUAT Who needs to Conduct
conformance to requirements “fit for use” provide independent objectivity Who needs to Conduct mandatory part of SALC process optional for RSD process Need for Documented Process vehicle for communication standardise procedures & obtain ISO 9000 certification add value to staff & management documentation located at IT1:\Users\IP Standards\IUAT 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 2

Steps of IUAT Process Test Planning Generate UAT Documentation
“if you fail to plan, you plan to fail” Generate UAT Documentation ATP & ATS Execute Acceptance Tests user involvement Defect Management incident reports & incident summary report UAT Reporting interim acceptance sign-off 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 3
4
User Acceptance Test Planning
Prioritise Requests & Staffing based on the IUAT schedule Define IUAT Objectives clauses pertaining to testing in supplier contract input to QMP testing sections Early Involvement cost reduction due to early detection improved service requirements traceability 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 4

IUAT Execution IUAT Readiness Assessment email Test Execution
Project unit, integration, system testing completed Project test environment configured & stable release under formal CM control (at least baseline) user representatives are properly trained business processes documented ATP & ATS reviewed defect management system in place Test Execution user-run exercise in accordance with ATP & ATS managed by IUAT analyst available technical support from project team test coverage actual results compared to expected results 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 7

Defect Management Incident Recording Incident Reporting
capturing issues critical to the testing task managing & controlling defects complete record & critical issues are not lost communicating future requests (SCR’s) PVCS tracker is the tool used in the defect tracking process Incident Reporting ensure that all parties are aware of the issues prioritised by system severity, user priority and weight report statistics on issues generation of incident summary report 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 8
9
Defect Management Incident Tracking Defect Correction
allow for follow-up until issues are resolved Defect Correction verification & validation regression testing re-test 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 9

Problems encounterd during IUAT
procedure work rarely assigned clearly difficult to obtain business rules requirements/specs too general, unclear or incomplete testing time compressed due to development overrun late addition of new requirements users not trained or scheduled on other activities during IUAT Re- assigning high priority issues to lower priorities Solution assign an IS resource to the procedure portion build additional time in development phase insist on clear requirements do not accept significant changes after gate 2 3 June Batelco IUAT Process 14
