Page2 Latinos and Baseball- Some Facts Baseball was introduced in the Caribbean in 1864 when Nemisio Guillo, a Cuban who had been schooled in Alabama, brought a baseball and bat back to Cuba. Seven Latinos are inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The Caribbean World Series, played in February, began over 50 years ago. It now is a 4-team tournament with the four biggest (non-Communist) baseball powers in the region. Who are these teams? Write your answer in the space to the left.
