Definition The prostate gland is about the size of a walnut and is located just below the urinary bladder in men. An enlarged prostate presses against the urethra making it narrower and the bladder muscle becomes thicker and more sensitive causing a need to urinate more often.

Signs and symptoms Increased urinary urgency and frequency. Weak urine flow. Stop/start in urine flow. Feeling as if bladder is still not empty. Leaking of urine. Sometimes blood in urine.

Who is more prone to suffer from this. This is a common complaint in men over the age of 50. It increases in frequency with age. It is seldom noticed in younger men.

Differentiation between enlarged prostate and prostatitis Fever and chills Pain between scrotum and anus

Illness temperament and treatment frames The illness is associated with a moist temperament. Treatment frames are cold and dry, dry and hot, hot and dry. Refrain from sweet,refined, fizzy drinks, dairy, sour foods

Treatment used Karela (bitter gourd) 1 a day. Pumpkin one meal a day. Papaya every morning. Renotone tablets take 1 three times a day. Personal mixture: to boil Parsley 1tsp, celery seeds 1tsp,fennel seeds1tsp,aniseed 1tsp,black pepper 3.
