1) Go to Windows button in top left corner and click New.

2) On the left side you’ll see the Templates List. Scroll down to Resumes & CVs. Click that link. And then click on Situation-Specific Resumes.

4) Choose the High School Student Resume or any other of your choosing.

If you click on High School Student resume, you will see this come up. Accept agreement and then click Download. It is a template, so you can change categories and info. Note that this resume (and all available templates) have an Objective under the name.

A word of caution on using Templates…. Use of a template provides you with the easiest and quickest way to create a ‘starter’ resume. That said, it does have limitations….some of which are: 1) A resume template is made up of ‘cells’ which allow the user to input information in a set way. This is wonderful until….. 2) After you finish creating the resume, you may find it difficult to add headings you didn’t include in the first place. It is not impossible, but it requires playing around with adding / deleting cells which many of you are not familiar with. ** If you choose a template to build your resume, be sure to include all the headings you want and in the correct order for your age / occupation! Your Headings should appear in the following order: Objective statement, Academics / Awards, Extra-curricula Activities, Interests / Hobbies, Work Experience, References 3) Including numbers / bullet points under a heading, especially when they do not appear in the cell to begin with, has caused some difficulty in the past. 4) Remember that this is a ‘starter’ resume. As you get older and gain experience, the template you use for the CV may no longer work for you. 5) You can always create a resume using Word and not choose a template.

Here is the final product. From here, use the template to plug in information specific to you. Save this template as a Word file and you can return to it as often as you like to add / subtract information. Good luck! This sample resume is on the Senior Program website.
