Haiku is a form of traditional Japanese Poetry. Haiku poems consist of three lines. The syllable pattern of a Haiku poem is 5,7,5. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables.

A syllable is part of word pronounced as a unit. It is usually made up of a vowel alone or a vowel and one or more consonants. The word “syllable” has three syllables – syl-la-ble.

Falling to the ground, I watch a leaf settle down In a bed of brown. The wind is blowing It is blowing very hard I don't like the wind.
