As a former world heavy weight champion, Frank Bruno was a hit all around Great Britain. Bruno was known for his hard and fast punches. Naomi Campbell was born in may 1970. Naomi’s mum was a fashion model and a designer. Naomi herself became a super model and was said that she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Naomi spent two years on the Paris catwalk and made it on to some of the French magazine covers and then some pictures of her went in to a American magazine. She was 15 when she started to be a model. Naomi has also appeared in films with people like Antonio Banderas and Sophia Loren. She became the favourite model of all the designers. Denise Lewis is a superb runner and was the British woman athlete of the year in 1996. She won a gold medal at the European and Commonwealth Games and in 1999 she was 12 points short of a Commonwealth record. She was born in 1972 in West Bromwich (UK) and in the 2000 Olympics she ran 100 metres hurdles in 13.23 seconds. She ran the 200 metres in 24.10 seconds, her best long jump was 6.69 metres, she threw the shot put at 16.12 metres.

By Hannah and Rachel Zadie Smith was born in 1975. Zadie’s mother was Jamaican and her father was British. Zadie Smith started writing poems and short stories at the age of six. Writing wasn’t her only interest because from the age of five through to fifteen she enjoyed tap-dancing. As a teenager she enjoyed watching musicals. Jeremy played for England rugby team in centre and was nicknamed prince of centres. His first game was against Romania, scoring a hat-trick in 1989. Jeremy was a successful player winning again and again. Jeremy was born in Bath and played for his home team, and in the end he played for England rugby club.

NNelson was born in Transkei which is a place in South Africa NNelson’s dad, Chief Henry Mandela, was a a leader of the Tembu tribe. HHe thought it was wrong that black people and white people were treated differently and tried to make a difference to how people were treated but ended up being sent to prison. HHe was imprisoned on Robin Island.

Rudolph Walker was an amazing actor. Rudolph was the first black person to star in a television series. He plays the role of Patrick in Eastenders. Rudolph Walker arrived in Britain in 1960.

Kelly Holmes was born in Kent. Her Father was Jamaican and her mother was English. Kelly Holmes started training for athletics at the age of 12. But at the age of 18 Kelly turned her back on her dream and decided to join the British Army. Kelly Holmes also did a bit of Judo in the Army. Kelly Holmes then decided to fulfil her dream to be come a British Athlete. Kelly Holmes won 3 Bronze, 5 Silver and 4 Gold Olympic medals in her athletic career!!! Kelly Holmes retired in 2005 on the 6 th of December. Kelly Holmes appeared on dancing on ice in 2006!

Craig David Craig David is the youngest UK black male to have a number 1 R&B music single Craig David is our world ambassador for urban music. His two albums are now multi-million sellers. Craig David has won many awards and won a national song writing competition at the age of 16. Craig David is working on his third album at the moment.
