Shakespeare’s Sonnets Most of you have chosen a sonnet to recitefor our Poetry Out Loud Project. Elsa, Joes, Pippa and Yoni still need to pick one. Hand in a print with the number of the sonnet before Friday please. The numbers that are already taken are: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 22, 23, 26, 36, 38, 39, 45, 47, 56, 59, 62, 69, 74 Visit the website poetryoutloud.org and watch a video to see what our goal is. Spelling in those days Do you see anything remarkable on the cover?

19 June 1609 Edward Alleyn (one of the greatest actors in those days) noted his purchase of the recently-published Shake-speares Sonnets by writing down ‘Shaksper sonetts.’ Let’s look at some more funky spellings
