Supplies Needed Binder with dividers (or spiral notebook and pocket folder) Notebook paper Pens and pencils Highlighters A flash drive (USB) is very convenient for computer work! A-G – Tissues H - M -- 12 ct. colored pencils N - S – Highlighters (colors other than yellow) T-Z – Colorful sticky notes

Grading Policy Grade system – Major grades are 60% of six weeks’ average May include vocabulary exams, novel exams, essays, projects, writing process – Daily grades are 40% of six weeks’ average Quizzes, worksheets, participation

Areas of Study Current Unit: Short Story and Literary Elements Review of literary terms. Expository writing. Novels and Plays: The Odyssey, Homer (textbook) Hunger Games*, Suzanne Collins Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare (textbook) To Kill a Mockingbird*, Harper Lee *Students are encouraged to have their own copies of asterisked books for annotating. Some also find it helpful to have a copy of Cliff’s Complete or Spark Notes’ No Fear Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.
