Literacy Fair Project Options Choose 1: Literacy Quilt One Line Poster Literature Lyricist Live Poem or Short Story

Literacy Quilt Guidelines Squares can be made from paper or cloth. Students may work either alone, or in groups of up to 3 people. Quilts must have at least 12 squares. Squares should be at least 9” square, and no larger than 12” square. All squares must be student created. No computer created graphics or printing. On the back of the quilt, student name(s), grade level(s), and school should appear. This project is about… Students will create a literacy quilt based on direct quotes from literacy pieces. Each square should contain the following: Direct quote from a literary work. Title of the literary work. A student-created graphic relating to the quote.

One Line… that will change you as a reader! Guidelines The poster must not exceed 12x18. The significant line from the novel must be displayed clearly on the poster. The student shares the line’s significance in his/her own words. Creative and original artwork. Original text is cited on the poster. May use computer-generated or handcrafted graphic. This project is about… Students will create a poster from a novel of their choice that changed them as reader.

Literature Lyricist Live Guidelines Students will write their own original lyrics to the tune of a popular song. Performance must be recorded and uploaded to Stupeflix website http://studio.stupeflix.com. http://studio.stupeflix.com Performance must be under 5 minutes. Submit Stupefix links via email to lmdlough@volusia.k12.fl.us. lmdlough@volusia.k12.fl.us This project is about… Students will write new lyrics to the tune of a popular song based on a character from a novel or short story.

Journey Through a Challenge or Discovering Your Identity Poem Guidelines: Must follow 1 of the themes. Must be 10 lines, typed, 12 point font, First and Last Name, Name of your school. Must tell a story (fiction or non-fiction. Please label). Short Story Guidelines: Must follow 1 of the themes. No more than 1,000 words, typed, 12 point font, First and Last Name, Name of your school. Must tell a story (Fiction or non-fiction. Please label).
