Information meeting on Groundshare

What we know so far: -City Council looking to acquire Dalymount Park from Zurich Bank. -Ground to potentially be redeveloped using infrastructure funds for FAI hosting of 2020 European Championships. -Unclear if lease on ground will be held by FAI or council.

What we know so far: -City Council have long advocated for groundshare as solution. -According to a city official, deal on Dalymount contingent on getting lease on Tolka, so value can be recouped. -Intent is for deal to “save” both clubs from their current issues but their debts will have to be dealt with by their respective boards.

What we know so far: -Significant obstacles exist to this arrangement. -Some Bohs fans owed money by the club hold a charge over Dalymount that supersedes that of Zurich. -Shels don’t hold full control of the leaseholds on Tolka. DCC would have to come to deal with developer Jerry O’Reilly.

Is Dalymount the right option? -Lower overheads. -No obligation to maintain the ground. -Tolka is in a very precarious state.

Is Dalymount the right option? -Ground in area tied to Bohs for 100 years. -Fans are dispersed throughout city but fans do comely heavily from north side of city. -Difficult to recruit fanbase, which is stagnant.

Trust actions -Already working with public reps to get info. -Exploring some alternative options. -Looking to hold ballot of fans on issue and ownership structure.

Question 1: Proposed Question 1: Assuming no financial or other impediments exist, what is your preference for how Shelbourne FC should be owned and operated? -A limited company operating as a members club (EG Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers) -A limited company heavily funded by a sole individual (EG St Pat’s, Wexford Youths) -A co-operative with a high subscription fee to fund costs (EG Sligo Rovers, Cork City, Finn Harps) -A co-operative with a nominal subscription fee (EG AFC Wimbledon, FC United of Manchester; this is the 1895 Trust’s current model) -A limited company operated by a number of volunteer businessmen/women (Shelbourne’s current model)

Question 2: What is your preferred location and arrangement for a future home for Shelbourne FC? -A redeveloped Tolka Park. -Groundshare in Dalymount Park. -A greenfield site on the Northside of the city. – A municipal stadium in Ringsend/Irishtown. – Other (please state).

What you can do: -Volunteer Skills: Need help in publicity, organizing, legal, financial and sporting areas. -Contact local representatives. -Encourage people to sign up when 2015 membership opens. -Keep engaging with club, Trust and other fans.
