What to Expect at Rock Eagle

Dates and Times June 22-26 (Monday – Friday) Depart at 8:00 A.M. from Tattnall County High School Begin arriving at 7:30 A.M. Monday morning Return Home at 2:00 P.M. Friday

Rock Eagle Located in Eatonton, GA adjacent to the Oconee National Forest 1,428 acres of forested land 110 acre lake

Housing Cabins have separate bedrooms for children 20 total (8,8,4) Adults are in C room Daily cabin cleanup Win Thunderbird

Packing for Camp At least 7 outfits “Play clothes” are fine For girls – Rock Eagle policy – 1 piece swimsuit only Shoes(no flip flops!) 2 pair tennis shoes 1 pair water shoes Extra pair

Transportation and Luggage School Bus Luggage will be transported on trailer No loose items, please Label everything WELL Rock Eagle or Bust!!!

Packing for Camp Toiletries Insect repellant Dirty Clothes Bag Disposable Camera recommended Sheets or sleeping bag Towels and wash clothes Beach or pool towel – labeled well Water Bottle

Food Eat Drink plenty of water Snacks

Prepare to Stay Away from Home Usually day is packed Let spend night away if they have not

Money Needed Monday’s lunch money has been included in your camp fee and we will give to you on Monday when we stop for lunch prior to arriving to Rock Eagle Canteen money for each day (few dollars per day) DO NOT send excessive money to camp Use envelopes!!!

Code of Conduct Must sign and review Summary No profanity No fighting No illegal substances Review Board if needed

Discipline Signed by child and parents Will be reviewed Must follow Violation = departure from camp at parent’s expense

Security Security guard on duty Camp nurse present Health Information Form Over the counter meds Prescription meds

Phone Calls Parents should not: Call the camp to find out if the county has arrived safely Expect a call from the camper during the week Expect to call the camp just to check on their child Send cell phones with their child to camp Parents should expect to: Leave a voice mail if they call the camp after business hours Have important messages delivered to an adult on the same day they call. (Mrs. Lesli cell – 912-805-4068)

Helpful Hints Do not bring personal items that have value (real or personal): clothes or jewelry. Pack essential items only Do not bring boom boxes, cellular phones, CD players & CD’s

More hints….. Parents will be responsible for damages to facilities at Rock Eagle. Tattnall County 4-H is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen items.
