1 FLEX-US 2013 Airborne Campaign
Collaboration between NASA, ESA, and the FLuorescence Explorer Mission Objectives: Successfully co-manifest the two instrument packages on the NASA UC-12B KingAir aircraft. Conduct science flights, obtaining morning, mid- day, and afternoon datasets for two unique ecosystems in North Carolina (NC). Status: G-LiHT lidar data processing is complete with products available for download at ftp://fusionftp.gsfc.nasa.gov/G-LiHT Processing and evaluation of G-LiHT optical & thermal data is underway. Processing of ground calibration / validation data is underway.

7 FLEX-US 2013 Airborne Campaign
Collaboration between NASA, ESA, and the FLuorescence Explorer Mission Post flight campaign, the HyPlant instrument was transported to GSFC Code 551 calibration facility where the portable version of NIST’s Spectral Irradiance and Radiance responsively Calibrations using Uniform Sources (SIRCUS) resides. SIRCUS laser was tuned in 1 nm increments across portions of the VNIR spectrum for radiometric calibration / characterization of HyPlant’s broad band imaging spectrometer. SIRCUS laser was tuned in 0.25 nm increments from 650 to 800 nm covering the full spectral response range of HyPlant’s narrow band imaging spectrometer. Next analysis of this data, especially for HyPlant’s ultra-high resolution imaging spectrometer, is a key deliverable that will directly impact the decision process to procure similar COTS components under the EVS-2 VegFusion proposal effort to build the next generation of G-LiHT systems to be called Goddard’s Fluorescence, LiDAR, Hyperspectral, and Thermal (G-FLiHT) airborne imager.
