5. Banner Internationalization Currency Currency amount fields have been expanded to (17,2). General and Finance Only The currency fields in AR, Financial Aid, HR and Student will not be changed. Advancement currency fields will not be changed with the exception of column, AFRCORG_GOAL, which will be expanded to (17,2). Rate amount fields have been expanded to 7 decimal places. Banner Internationalization Oracle Database will need to be UTF-8 enabled Semantics of database need to be changed from BYTE to CHAR (NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS = CHAR) This will necessitate a re-install of the database Two methods expdb/impdp csscan/csaltr Pro*C utilizes ICU (International Component for Unicode). ICU are C/C++ libraries used for Unicode and Globalization support for application software. Developed by IBM.

8. Banner 8 Upgrade Software upgrades Install Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.3 Upgrade your application server to 10.1.2.0.2 Upgrade your Oracle Forms toolset to 10.1.2.0.2 Install ICU (International Components for Unicode) release 3.6 on your job submission server
