2 Sharps A sharp, , after a letter name means play the key to the right, or higher, on the keyboard without skipping over any keys, whether black or white. C-sharp, in Example 1, is the black key to the right of C.

3 Sharps A sharp, , after a letter name means play the key to the right, or higher, on the keyboard without skipping over any keys, whether black or white. C-sharp, in Example 1, is the black key to the right of C. Listen to C and C#. The second note is a bit higher.
