DOCUMENT 4 F2 MATCHING TIMETABLE AND PROCESS 2011/12 Round 1 Who can apply: Current F1 doctors allocated to the Wales Foundation School via the UK Foundation Programme Recruitment Scheme for 2010/11 If you were allocated your post via Local Health Board (LHB) appointment, you are not eligible to join the F2 Matching Scheme. Should there be any vacancies available once matching is complete, we anticipate these posts will be advertised by LHBs in March 2011. If you require further information, please contact your local Foundation Programme Director. Monday, 13 th December 2010 on-line Matching Scheme Round 1 opens – Foundation Doctors complete an application form and select 8 F2 rotations. Friday, 14 th January 2011 applications close. Consultants rank applications between Friday, 14 th January 2011 and Friday 28 th January 2011. Round 2 Applicants who were not allocated a post in Round 1 will need to apply in Round 2. Tuesday, 1 st February 2011 Round 2 opens. Applicants select a further 8 rotations. Friday, 4 th February 2011 Round 2 applications close. Consultants rank applications between Friday 4 th February 2011 and Friday 11 th February 2011. Any applicants who were not allocated a post by this date will automatically go into Round 3 where further matching will take place. Round 3 will take place between Tuesday February 15 th and Friday 25 th February 2011. Results for all rounds of matching will be announced on Monday 28 th February 2011. IMPORTANT Time out of Foundation Programme (TOFP) / Working abroad for F2 - August 2011 - July 2012. A limit of 17 Foundation Doctors will be permitted to take TOFP and a maximum of 4 to Work abroad for their F2 year. Applicants will be chosen at random. Applications will only be accepted between Monday November 15th and Friday November 26th 2010 and should be forwarded Sioned Edwards, PGMDE Wales, Cardiff University, 1 st floor Neuadd Meirionnydd, Heath Park, Cardiff, CF14 4XN (must be submitted in paper form). Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted, and all required signatures must be obtained prior to submission. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday December 1 st 2010.
