MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Who We Are In February 2003, MD19 received a bequest from the late G. Rena Bebb of over $600,000.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Who We Are In February 2003, MD19 received a bequest from the late G. Rena Bebb of over $600,000. In May 2003, the MD19 Council of Governors determined that the bequest should be invested in and used for the foundation.

In May 2003, the MD19 Council of Governors determined that the bequest should be invested in and used for the foundation. The articles of incorporation and by-laws of the MD19 Lions Service and Leadership Development Foundation were established in January 2003 on notice that MD19 was going to be receiving a bequest.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Our Mission To provide educational and leadership training programs for development of tomorrow’s leaders in school, community, business and service organizations ensuring that those who follow have the training to carry out the challenge of future community and world leadership. To provide the resources necessary to develop programs, instructors, facilities, and to implement training, thus providing skill levels that allow future development of others. To strive for greater public awareness of our need for competent, forward thinking leadership in an ever changing world and the challenges facing communities.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Meetings The MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation meets three times a year and at special meetings, as needed.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide NWLLI - Northwest Lions Leadership Institute

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide NWLLI: an annual leadership training, held one year in Washington State and the next year in Oregon. The Leadership Institute consists of 3 days of training, honing leadership skills for up to 90 Lions and non-Lions.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide NWLLI: We provide scholarships for MD19 Lions participants, on a “first come” basis. This year we funded 60 students at $175 each.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide Salary for Border Crossing Editor - $1,800/year The Border Crossing is the official MD19 publication made available to all Lions in our Multiple District.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide Leadership 101: a one day leadership class, available to any district in MD19, for both Lions and non-Lions. This class is recommended as a precursor to NWLLI.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide Leadership 101: Participants pay a minimum $35 fee and organizers may apply for a Lions Leadership Foundation grant of up to $500 per district, per year.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide Leadership Training for Camp Horizon Counselors Camp Horizon, in Birch Bay, WA, is dedicated to providing a fun summer camp experience for people with special needs.

MD19 Lions Leadership Foundation Grants We Provide Lions training is made available to both Lions and non-Lions. We provide funding for both Lions and non-Lions leadership training. Grant applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to an event. Grants submitted 30 to 59 days prior are subject to a $200 expedited application fee.
