9. BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO RAPEX-CHINA
RAPEX-CHINA is a result of communication and cooperation between EU and CHINA.
The special project laid a solid foundation for the rapid exchange of information between EU and China, and for the establishment of the mechanism of unsafe consumer products’ tracking and information feeding back.
By December 31, 2010, totally 4885 cases have been notified through
the RAPEX-CHINA system. Inspection and quarantine agencies at various
locations were organized and made investigation on 1678 cases.
Relevant measures have been taken to deal with the cases.

10. HOW IS THE RAPEX-CHINA WORKING?
2009, AQSIQ established an "Information platform for RAPEX-CHINA special project" and officially put it into operation within the nationwide inspection and quarantine agencies. ————

AQSIQ downloads, translates, sorts out and itemizes the notifications, and uploads to the “Information Platform for RAPEX-CHINA special project ”, B
The respective CIQ directly under AQSIQ carries out investigation according to relevant requirements (immediately) C
The Inspection Department of AQSIQ carries out study and judgment on results of investigations &
feedback to EU quarterly. D

EU-CHINA have reached high degree of common understanding on such aspects as theory and concept of quality and safety of consumer products, mechanism of dealing with problems;

Technical exchange activities have been carried out effectively and comprehensively for the purpose of raising quality and safety of consumer products;

15. ACHIEVEMENTS OF RAPEX-CHINA
Effective investigation and feedback of information have been carried out in dealing with individual cases of quality and safety of consumer products, thus protected rights and interests of consumers and related parties;
By December 31, 2010, totally 4885 cases have been notified through the RAPEX-CHINA system. AQSIQ has all the notifications translated into Chinese and sorted them out. Inspection and quarantine agencies at various locations were organized and made investigation on 1678 cases. Relevant measures have been taken to deal with the cases. Totally 16 quarterly reports and 3 annual working reports have been completed.

16. ACHIEVEMENTS OF RAPEX-CHINA
This cooperation project provides a good example for EU-China economic and trade cooperation in other fields, in enhancing strategic mutual trust, in improving coordination of policies, in keeping market open and in reducing trade frictions.
